Sociological theories are used here in this study of Aran and Dublin in the works of Máirtín Ó Direáin.
According to Ní Riain, it is the uniqueness of his voice as that of a modern poet that gives Ó Direáin his individualism in settling into city life. Therefore the book explores Ó Direáin’s self-creation as a poet and the poetic language developed by him during his writing period.
