Labhrás Ó Finneadha grew up in Spiddal, Cois Fharraige. He studied at the National University of Ireland Galway where he an MA in Irish. He then worked in Germany for two years working in Wuppertal University. He came back to Ireland in 2000 but it wasn’t long before he headed off again, this time to Luxembourg. He qualified with a Masters in European Union law in 2009.
He has written literary extracts and his poems were shortlisted for Comórtas Uí Néill (Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge) in 2009 and in 2010. He won first place in the Oireachtas competition (2011) for unpublished writers.
Asarlaíocht, gorta agus teamplóirí, a trilogy of translated works, was published in 2013. His book of short stories, Íbíotsa, reveals a side to the island outside the all-inclusive holiday resorts, and was published by Cois Life in 2015 in print, e-book and audio formats.
