Tomás Mac Síomóin 25 August 2017

Tomás Mac Siomón is an Irish Language novelist and poet, born in Dublin in 1938. Throughout his established career he has received a PhD from Cornell University in New York, as well as spending periods working as a scientific researcher, a lecturer and a journalist. Mac Síomóin also worked as editor of both ‘Anois’ and ‘Comhar’. He has translated a collection of poetry written by Nicaragua native Ernesto Cardenal, published in Irish as ‘Na cathracha caillte’ (Coiscéim, 2004) as well as the famous Mexican novel ‘Pedro Páramo’ by Juan Rulfo (Coiscéim, 2008).

Michal Boleslav Měchura is a software engineer. He is originally from the Czech Republic. He worked for Fiontar in Dublin City University and for the New English-Irish Dictionary Project in Foras na Gaeilge. He builds and maintains the IT infrastructure on several language-technology projects including téarma.ie, logainm.ie, teanglann.ie and potafocal.com.

Orna Ní Choileáin

Orna Ní Choileáin’s family are from West Cork. She has won prizes for her creative prose, poetry, drama and theatre, and short-story writing at the Oireachtas and at other Gaelic festivals. She writes in English as well and has won the national An Post prize for her writing.

Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin 28 June 2017

Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin was born in Cork in 1942. She is a poet and Professor Emeritus with English in Trinity College Dublin; having taught there since 1966, she retired in 2011 and still gives lectures from time to time. She was elected Irish Professor of Poetry for 2016–2019.
