Éilís Ní Dhuibhne was born in Dublin in 1954. She did a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Medieval Studies in University College, Dublin. Éilís later won a folklore scholarship to the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and completed her Ph.D. in the field of folklore studies there in 1982.

Rióna Ní Fhrighil is from Ulster. She has a B.A. International from The National University of Ireland, Galway, an M.Phil. from Trinity College, Dublin and a Ph.D. from The National University of Ireland, Galway. She is now a lecturer in Irish at NUI Galway.

Fidelma Ní Ghallchobhair

Fidelma Ní Ghallachobhair was raised in an English-speaking household in Kildare and regularly visited Donegal’s central Gaeltacht area, her mother’s homeplace. She holds a primary degree in Irish and Latin, and a post-graduate degree in Modern Irish, as well the Higher Diploma in Education, from University College, Galway; a period during which she frequented the Conamara Gaeltacht.

Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh was born in Kerry. She has read at festivals in New York, Paris, Montréal, Berlin and Ballyferriter. In 2012, her poem ‘Deireadh na Feide’ won the O’Neill Poetry Prize. ‘Filleadh ar an gCathair’ was chosen as Ireland’s EU Presidency poem in 2013 and was shortlisted in 2015 for RTÉ’s ‘A Poem for Ireland’.
