Siobhain Grogan was raised in Naas, Co Kildare. She went to St. Mary’s College, Naas and University College, Dublin, where she received her BA degree in English and Mathematics and a Higher Diploma in Education after that. She went on to study for a certificate in Learning Support and a Master’s Degree in Education. She is a full-time teacher in the Dominican College, Griffith Avenue, Dublin since 1993.
She has three children who are being raised with Irish. Upon noticing how few Irish-language resources there were for reading, playing and learning she decided to write her book, Cén t-am é? (Cois Life, 2009). The book was shortlisted for the Réics Carló award in 2009 (book of the year for young people). Siobhain won the Language Ambassador of the Year Prize in 2012 (the European Language Label). She is the Irish language officer of Sult na Sollán (a community group in Sallins, Co. Kildare), as well as being the chair of the business scheme, Cill Dara le Gaeilge.
Cillian ag comhaireamh, a book for children aged 5+ about counting, was published by Cois Life in 2017.
